The global market changed over the last decade with the rise of emerging economies and trade barriers increasingly prevent access to these key new markets. Progress at multilateral (WTO) level and bilateral FTA negotiations would help remove existing tariffs among the major negotiating partners. Moreover, protection of IPR, enforcement and effective trade defence instruments are key to maintaining a fair and level playing field for the EU industry.
