The Board meeting of the World Refractories Association (WRA), held in April in London, brought together 14 CEOs and Association Presidents from 5 different continents. The meeting was organised by PRE, the European Refractory Industry Federation, which hosts the secretariat of the WRA. The meeting was chaired by WRA President François Wanecq, CEO of Vesuvius plc. The WRA consists of 6 continental refractory associations and 7 of the largest global refractory companies. The meeting discussed in particular the collection of global statistics and the upcoming revision of the HS codes for refractories. The next Board meeting will take place in January 2017 with the WRA General Assembly scheduled for September 2017 in Chile. For more information, please visit: www.wra.org.
