The European Water Label (EWL) was present at ISH Frankfurt on 14-17 March 2017, Europe’s largest bathroom and plumbing exhibition. The EWL stand was located in Hall 4.1 FOY 18 and visited by many European and international representatives from different organisations, as well as exhibiting manufacturers. The third issue of the Water for Life magazine was distributed at the fair.
The EWL and FECS also organised the conference ‘Industry Mutual Cooperation - Toward One Labelling Scheme’, which took place on 15 March 2017. More than 60 participants listened to a panel of speakers that presented the newly formed European Bathroom Forum (EBF). FECS coordinator Nuno Pargana welcomed the participants and speakers and opened the conference. FECS marketing experts Mr Carlos Velazquez (Roca) and Pietro Mariotti (Geberit) explained how to move towards one robust labelling scheme across Europe for water using bathroom products. They also indicated that the EBF is an informal platform to bring all voices of the European Bathroom sector together to focus on the development of one labelling scheme. EBF is open to all stakeholders, including European and national associations, manufacturers, merchants, installers and retailers. Sue Knight from FEST – the European Federation of the Sanitary and Heating Wholesale Trade – highlighted the importance of having a single label scheme for the bathroom sector. The EBF kick off meeting will take place on 22 May in Brussels.
