INTERNSHIP IN EUROPEAN PUBLIC AFFAIRS (CLIMATE, ENERGY & TRADE)

 

Cerame-Unie Aisbl (CU) is the European Ceramic Industry Association. Based in Brussels since 1962, it is the voice of the European Ceramic Industry to the EU institutions. The European Ceramic Industry accounts for a total annual turnover of €31 billion and generates over 200,000 direct jobs. At the EU level, the industry is involved in policy debates in the fields of environment, health & safety, climate & energy, construction & sustainability, international trade, internal market, skills, and research & innovation. Tasks:

The intern will gain practical knowledge and better understanding of EU institutions and international processes while carrying out different tasks: 

 

  • Support to the CU team in regulatory activities in the fields of climate & energy (e.g.: ETS, European Green Deal, energy policy) and trade (e.g.: FTA’s, market access, trade defence and trade barriers);
  • Statistical extraction, collection and analysis of industry and trade data;
  • Support in communication activities e.g.: writing of newsletter articles, reports, minutes of meetings and memos;
  • Support of event organisation and promotion;
  • Participation at external events and meetings.

 

Profile:

  • Educational background in European studies, political science, economics, or law;
  • Previous experience with European institutions is an advantage;
  • Very good command of written and spoken English, other languages are an asset;
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiatives;
  • Detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Organised and efficient;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and in a team.
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

 

The position is remunerated and available for 6 months, starting as soon as possible.
