The A.SPIRE General Assembly on 17 February, which CU attended, addressed developments in the SPIRE PPP and projects as well as the priorities and expectations for 2016.
Rudolf Strohmeier, a guest speaker from DG Research & Innovation, confirmed that the Commission appreciates the significant commitments taken by the European process industries in terms of improvements in resource and energy efficiency, as well as materials and waste valorisation. The process industry actively searches for unconventional synergies across sectors to achieve ambitious objectives through industrial symbiosis.
