Ahead of the vote in the European Parliament Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) Committee on the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive (CMD), scheduled for 28 February, the European ceramic industry has prepared its position on the amendments tabled, see below/attached. The main focus of Cerame-Unie regards the Binding Occupational Exposure Limit Values (BOELVs) for Respirable Crystalline Silica and Refractory Ceramic Fibres, in favour of the values proposed by the European Commission, and the need for a better recognition of the NEPSI good practices with regards to the implementation of the Directive.
