On 20 June 2017, the European Commission launched the public consultation “Evaluation and possible revision of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR)” to collect input from stakeholders on the future of this regulation.
Cerame-Unie (CU) replied to the consultation and highlighted that the CPR is key and shall remain the regulatory framework for construction products. Hence, CU rejects the repeal of the CPR. In order to solve the disagreements between the European Commission, Members States, CEN and industry, CU calls for a joint constructive effort to solve the most urgent problems related to the implementation of the CPR. Read the CU position paper on the future of CPR.
Furthermore, the Commission delegated act on the classification of frost resistance performance for clay tiles under EN 1304 was cited on 17 August 2017 in the Official Journal of the European Union. CEN/TC 128 experts are now working on the revision of EN 1304 to amend some parts, but also to comply with this delegated act.
On 22 January 2018, the Commission launched a public consultation in the context of the CPR review. CU will reply to this consultation, which is open until 16 April 2018.
