Following a request from EU Energy Ministers, the European Commission decided to extend its analysis and produce a follow up review of the energy prices and costs study published in January 2014. DG GROW selected a consortium of consultants (led by CEPS) to carry out a series of case studies about the evolution, composition and drivers of energy prices and costs faced by selected energy-intensive industries in the period 2008-2015. As in the previous edition, two ceramic sectors were selected to participate – bricks and roof tiles and wall and floor tiles – among the three other sectors taking part (steel, aluminium and refineries).
Visit the CEPS website for the results from the 2014 study on bricks and roof tiles and ceramic wall and floor tiles.
