On 3 September 2025, the European Commission adopted the text of the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and the Mercosur countries.
Cerame-Unie welcomes this development and calls for the prompt ratification of this agreement. The European ceramic industry is an export-oriented industry that enjoys a positive trade balance of €5.1 billion. Removing tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade will unlock new opportunities for European ceramic producers in one of the most dynamic ceramic markets worldwide and support the diversification of raw materials sources.
