On 8 December 2015, the European Commission organised a Horizon 2020 Info Day on the 2016 call for energy efficiency proposals under the Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy Societal Challenge. Cerame-Unie followed the event closely and reported its conclusions to the CU Research WG.

Didier Gambier (Head of Department LIFE, H2020 Energy, Environment & Resources – EASME) and Marie Donnelly (Director for Renewables, Research and Innovation, Energy Efficiency  DG ENER) opened the session.

 

Vincent Berrutto (Head of H2020 Energy Unit – EASME) then presented more precisely how H2020 supports energy efficiency and the funding priorities:

 

 

 

Ms Anette Jahn (Head of Sector  EASME) then presented recommendations for applicant:

 

 

 

 

During the afternoon, many presentations indirectly linked to the ceramic industry (EE11-Deep renovation of buildings, EE25-Energy efficiency services). However, three Energy Efficiency topics have clear applications:

  • EE-14-2016: Construction skills 
  • EE-15-2017: Increasing capacities for actual implementation of energy efficiency measures in industry and services
  • EE-17-2016: Valorisation of waste heat in industrial systems (SPIRE)

The deadline for submitting proposals in response to the 2016 calls is 21 January 2016.
