An agreement is expected soon between the European Council and the European Parliament on the second revision of the Carcinogens & Mutagens Directive. The European Parliament's Employment Committee (EMPL) adopted a draft report on the Commission's proposal. The draft report was adopted by 41 votes to 0, and 7 abstentions. Negotiations between Parliament and EU Ministers have started; member states have already adopted their negotiating position.

NEPSI, the European Network on Silica, has released its position on the second batch revision of CMD. The signatory organisations, of which Cerame-Unie is one, of the Social Dialogue Agreement on Workers Protection through the good handling and use of crystalline silica and products containing it welcome the recognition given to social dialogue agreements in the EMPL report.
