The European Water Label (EWL) is growing and gaining visibility through Europe. Currently, the EWL has 115 brands and more than 10,000 products registered onto the scheme. It has been present at various industry fairs, including Mostra in Milan, KBB in Birmingham, and Poznań Installer Fair in Poland. At the end of September, the EWL was also present at CERSAIE, the international exhibition of ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, in Bologna. The EWL stand was visited by many European and international representatives from different organisations, as well as exhibiting manufacturers. Thanks to the support of Confindustria Ceramica, the EWL also organised a press conference. At this event, Mr Renaud Batier, Director General of Cerame-Unie, stated that the European ceramic sanitaryware industry fully supports the EWL, a simple, voluntary and flexible scheme to measure the water consumption of bathroom products (see the video).

With the support of national associations, the EWL website is now available in four languages: English, German, Spanish and Turkish. The Italian and French websites are to become available in the future. Market research has commenced on Eastern European countries. Following this research, the EWL Company met several Polish manufacturers to talk about the EWL and its recent developments. As a result, one manufacturer joined the EWL scheme in April. Moreover, the EWL released in May a new advertising video “One Europe, One Label” to highlight what the Label is all about, where it is used and who supports it.

The EWL will be present at ISH Frankfurt on 14-17 March 2017, Europe’s largest bathroom and plumbing exhibition. The EWL stand will be manned by the EWL staff and the FECS secretariat. The third issue of the Water for Life magazine will be distributed at the fair. A press conference will take place on 15 March at ISH to discuss the developments of the EWL.
